Weekend in Capri: itinerary of a perfect walk

The beauty of the island of Capri is not only in its pristine sea and its atmosphere at La Dolce Vita but is also given by the possibility of being able to visit it on foot without using a car or bus. To plan a weekend in Capri that is perfect in every detail, we have decided to list all the steps from arrival to accommodation to make your trip trouble-free.

How to get to the island of Capri

First of all, the only possible way to reach the island is by sea, using the various ferries and hydrofoils that depart from Naples every day from both Molo Beverello and Calata Porta di Massa. If you come from the city airport, you will find Alibuses that will take you directly to the two piers. The sea trip takes 40 to 80 minutes.

Once you arrive in Capri, if you don't have a lot of luggage with you, you can proceed on foot and reach the various hotels in the area.

Where stay

Depending on your budget, Capri offers a good variety of B & Bs and hotels with relatively reasonable prices. Of course, the period chosen for your holiday is also affected, with prices much higher in the central weeks of August. However, if your idea is to visit the island even in the low season, you will certainly find affordable offers.

With two stars but with excellent reviews there is the Hotel Belvedere e Tre Re which offers a fantastic view of the sea and the convenient direct access to the beach of Marina Grande, in the same area there is also the B&B Casa Pamela, very rustic but absolutely cheap.

If, on the other hand, your budget is higher, you can stay overnight in the dream environment of Luxury Villa Excelsior Parco or stay a few steps from the famous Piazzetta di Capri in the Hotel Gatto Bianco, named in honor of the different generations of cats that have lived in the hotel bringing him luck.

A walk around Capri

Once you have left your luggage, you just have to enjoy the island. If you don't feel like going to the beach, you can take a long walk in Via Camerelle, known by tuB as the main shopping street. Starting from Hotel Quisisana up to Villa Pompeiana, you will find numerous luxury shops of the most important brands in the world among the many arches. Not only extra luxury shopping, among the various streets you can stumble upon small local craft shops that produce limoncelli, ceramics and the famous Capri sandals.

On the opposite side of the island there is Via Tragara, a road that will allow you to take a long walk near the coast to discover the most beautiful historic villas on the island. You cannot miss the Villa Capricorno, in Arabic and neoclassical style, with a reproduction of the Pompeii mosaic depicting Alexander the Great and Villa Discopoli, with its cross arches and the Moorish stairs. At the end of Via Tragara you will find an extraordinary viewpoint overlooking the Faraglioni. In short, impossible not to go.
